Ink Mark, one of Louis Vuitton's Journey to China releases by house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, is built around an inky, resinous accord of sandalwood, white incense and rose, rounded out with amber and musk in the base. It reads as an oriental-woody composition — smoky and contemplative rather than sweet, evoking calligraphy ink and temple incense. Louis Vuitton has not published a full official pyramid for this release, so treat the note breakdown as researched-but-indicative rather than brand-confirmed; the sandalwood-incense-amber character is consistently reported across independent reviews. Ink Mark suits cooler weather and evening wear, with the smoky sandalwood giving it good presence without being overpowering. As a recent, hard-to-find LV release, it's a strong candidate for discovery via decant: try Ink Mark in a Maison 1, 2, 5 or 10 ml sample before considering the full bottle.
