How Maison decants are prepared

Maison Perfumes sells sealed full bottles where available and smaller decants for buyers who want to wear a fragrance properly before choosing a larger size.

A Maison decant is a small spray vial filled from an original perfume bottle into a Maison vial. It is made for testing, travel, and comparing several scents without buying every full bottle first.

This page explains the format honestly: product photos on fragrance pages show the original bottle, while decant orders arrive as Maison-labelled vials in the size selected.

Original bottles and decants

Decants are prepared from original bottles. A decant is not a factory sample, tester, miniature, or sealed full bottle. It is a measured amount of fragrance transferred into a smaller Maison spray vial.

If a product page offers a full bottle, that bottle remains sealed unless the page clearly says otherwise. Full bottles and decants are separate formats.

Maison Perfumes is an independent shop. Brand and product names identify the fragrances available on the site; they do not mean Maison Perfumes is an authorized reseller, official partner, or distributor for those brands.

How Maison vials are filled

Each Maison decant is hand-filled from the original bottle into a clean Maison spray vial. The vial is capped, checked, labelled with the fragrance name and volume, and prepared for packing.

This is a practical hand-preparation process. It should not be read as a claim about specialist production facilities, batch certification, or brand authorization.

What you receive

When you order a decant, you receive a Maison-labelled spray vial in the selected size: commonly 1 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml, or 10 ml depending on the fragrance page.

When you order a sealed full bottle, you receive the original full bottle packaging where that option is available and shown on the product page.

For the Niche Discovery Set, you receive five 2 ml Maison vials. The current set is listed on the product page: Yves Saint Laurent Babycat, Yves Saint Laurent Tuxedo, Dior Ambre Nuit, Bond No. 9 Greenwich Village, and Diptyque Orphéon.

Product photos and size expectations

Most fragrance product photos show the original bottle so you can identify the scent. They do not mean a decant order arrives in the brand bottle.

If you choose a decant size, the order arrives as a Maison vial. If you choose a full-bottle size where available, the order arrives as the original full bottle.

For help choosing between 1 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml, and 10 ml, see the Maison perfume sample size guide.

Packing, hygiene, and returns

Decants are labelled and packed for delivery so the vial can be identified and protected in transit. Tracking is sent after dispatch.

Opened decants cannot be returned for hygiene reasons unless they are faulty or not as described. Sealed full bottles follow the published Return Policy.

If anything arrives damaged or not as described, contact Maison Perfumes with the order details so it can be checked.

Shipping from Slovakia

Maison Perfumes ships fragrance orders from Slovakia by EU ground delivery. Perfume is a flammable liquid, so air and express shipping are not part of the current delivery setup.

Shipping options, delivery timing, and final cost depend on the delivery country and are shown at checkout. You can also read the current Shipping & Payment page before ordering.

Start with a guided set

If you are new to Maison Perfumes or unsure where to begin, the Niche Discovery Set – 5 x 2 ml is a guided first order: five different scent directions in Maison 2 ml vials, enough to compare on skin before choosing a larger decant or a sealed full bottle where available.

Questions before ordering
